Welcome!

Welcome to Vienna Lodge No. 205’s website.  On January 10, 1867, Vienna Lodge was granted a Charter by the Grand Lodge of Michigan on petition of a small group of Master Masons.  Since that time our Lodge has grown from that humble beginning to our present membership of several hundred.  I anticipate that as you view the material on this website, you will learn more about Freemasonry and Vienna Lodge No. 205, Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan.

What’s a Mason?

Posted on by zcbeach | Leave a comment

That’s not a surprising question. Even though Masons (Freemasons) are members of the largest and oldest fraternity in the world, and even though almost everyone has a father or grandfather or uncle who was a Mason, many people aren’t quite certain just who Masons are.

The answer is simple. A Mason is a member of a fraternity known as Masonry.  A fraternity is a group of men who join together because:

* There are things they want to do in the world.
* There are things they want to do “inside their own minds.”
* They enjoy being together with men they like and respect.
